Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Hartford, Connecticut. The OR Travel Nurse will assist physicians and staff in caring for surgical patients, provide pre- and post-surgery education, and work as either circulating or scrub nurse depending on assignment needs.

The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating and/or scrub nurse, with potential RN First Assistant duties.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years acute care experience as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse.
• Travel assignment in Hartford, CT for 18 weeks.
• Must be able to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Certifications may be required before starting the assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide OR bedside care and assist per physician instructions.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Serve as liaison between patient family and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed and patient safety is maintained.
• Educate patient and family on post-surgery care.
