Job summary

American Traveler, LLC. seeks an experienced Operating Room RN for a Level 2 trauma center, circulating across General, GYN, Urology, Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and more, with call coverage.

This travel assignment includes mainly 10-hour day shifts, occasional 8-hour PM shifts, and optional night shifts, with on-call and weekend requirements. Active WI license, ACLS/BLS, and 1 year of RN experience are required.

Qualifications

• Active WI or compact RN license required (must be active by start date).
• Current ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA) certifications required.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience required.
• Must circulate General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular cases including bowel resections, laparoscopic, daVinci Xi, urology, bariatrics, GYN, and c-sections.
• Must circulate Orthopedic cases including total joints (with or without MAKO), arthroscopy, and ortho trauma.
• Must circulate Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics cases including trach, ENT, plastics, spine fusions, laminectomy, crani, and facial fractures.
• Specialization in one of four groupings: Ortho, Neuro/ENT/Oral/Plastics, CV-T, or General/GYN/Urology/Peripheral Vascular.
• 2 professional references: one supervisor, one peer.

Responsibilities

• Acute care setting within a 16-suite Operating Room averaging 28 cases per day.
• Level 2 trauma center.
• Uses Cerner EMR (facility transitioning to Epic).
• Primarily 10-hour day shifts (0700-1730), with ~1 week of 8-hour PM shifts (1500-2330) every 5 weeks.
• Night shift possible for experienced staff (2300-0700).
• Candidates choose between 8-hour and 10-hour shifts; 12-hour shifts may be available on subsequent contracts.
• On-call required 1-2 weeknights per week (end of shift to 0700).
• Weekend call required ~every 5-6 weekends (Fri after shift through Mon 0700).
• Holiday call required at least once per year.
• Call response times: 30 min for primary, 45 min for teams 2-4.
• Floating to Outpatient Surgery Center across campus.
• Unit staffed 24/7/365 with a minimum of one RN and one Surgical Tech.
• Charge RN always present in OR.
• OR techs present on unit.
• Scrubbing not required for RNs.
• Circulate a wide variety of surgical cases across specialized service lines.
• Receive 2-3 days of unit-specific orientation; 1-2 weeks to learn case flow.
