Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for an 8-week assignment in Glenview, Illinois. The OR RN will function as a circulating or scrub nurse, or RN first assistant, assisting physicians and staff in the surgical suite with pre- and post-operative care.

Requirements include ACLS, BLS, and 1–2 years of acute care experience along with an active RN license. Travel duties involve standing long hours, lifting up to 50 pounds, and a tax-free stipend may apply.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• 1–2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• Illinois RN license or eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and document prescribed medications.
• Serve as liaison between patients/families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure and patient identity before surgery.
• Initiate and educate patients on post-operative care and home medications.
