Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse for a 13-week assignment in Pratt, KS. The RN will assist physicians and staff with surgical patients, provide pre- and post-surgery care, and function as both circulating and scrub roles as needed.

This position requires 1–2 years of acute care experience and OR-related certifications. Responsibilities include patient care, medication administration, intra-team communication, and patient education.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience as a circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS are required (additional certifications may be needed).
• Ability to stand/walk for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds; exposure to OR hazards is possible.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients, their families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
