Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR Circulate for a travel nursing job in Northampton, Massachusetts. The position is an OR Circulate with a 13-week assignment, 40 hours per week, days shift, and travel employment type.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub RN, and may serve as RN first assistant. Duties include assisting surgeons, patient education, and instrument handling in the operating room.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse; RN first assistant potential.
• ACLS, BLS, PALS required; additional certifications may be needed before start.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedures are performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medications and home care.
