Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking an operating room travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Manchester, Connecticut. The position requires 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, with possible RN first assistant duties.

The role covers perioperative care, patient education, and collaboration with physicians and the surgical team. Responsibilities include bedside care, medication administration and monitoring, and ensuring correct procedures are performed.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse
• Possible RN first assistant duties
• BLS certification required

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Act as liaison between patients’ families and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education plan per physician and home care needs.
• Assist physicians by delivering direct surgical care; help control bleeding; suture patients.
