Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse for OR (RN OR) in Johnstown, PA. 13-week assignment with 40 hours/week, 8-hour rotating shifts; travel employment. Requires 1–2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse, and/ or RN first assistant.

The OR travel nurse will assist in pre- and post-surgery care, support OR staff, and educate patients and families; certifications ACLS/BLS/CPI commonly required.

Qualifications

• ACLS, BLS, CPI certifications required.
• 1.5 years of acute care experience as circulating nurse, scrub nurse, or RN first assistant preferred.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families and OR team.
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education for home care and meds.
