Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks an Operating Room RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Bangor, ME. You will prepare the OR, assist with patient positioning, maintain a sterile field, and collaborate with the surgical team to ensure patient safety and high-quality perioperative care.

Qualifications

• One year of operating room nursing experience required.
• Active RN license in accordance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room with required instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies.
• Assists in patient positioning and preparation for surgery.
• Maintains sterile field and adheres to infection control.
• Provides instruments and supplies to the surgical team to support workflow.
• Monitors patient status and communicates changes to the surgeon.
• Handles instrument sterilization and waste disposal per protocol.
• Manages specimen collection, labeling, and transport.
• Documents perioperative care accurately in the patient record.
• Participates in handoff communication pre- and post-operation.
• Cleans and restocks the operating room between cases.
