Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing assignment in Memphis, TN. This role requires 1-2 years of acute care OR experience, including circulating, scrub, or RN first assistant duties, and a 13-week duration with 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include assisting in the OR, preparing medications, educating patients, and ensuring correct procedures. ACLS/BLS are required; additional certifications may be needed before starting.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS are required certifications.
• 1 year of recent acute care OR experience preferred.
• Additional certifications may be required before starting.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and assist with perioperative tasks.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Serve as liaison between patients' families and the operating team.
• Ensure the correct procedure is performed on the correct patient.
• Initiate patient education on medications and home care needs.
• Circulating OR: monitor patient, handle specimens, assist circulation.
• Scrub OR: handle instruments and manage supplies.
• RN First Assistant: assist physicians and control bleeding.
