Job summary

TotalMed RN in Des Moines, IA is seeking an Operating Room travel nurse (OR RN) for a 13-week assignment. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of acute care experience as a circulating nurse or scrub nurse, with potential RN first assistant duties, on a 36-hour week schedule and 12-hour day shifts.

As an OR travel nurse you will support surgeons and the OR team, handle instruments, provide patient education, and ensure safety and accuracy of procedures.

Qualifications

• Must have 1-2 years acute care experience as circulating or scrub nurse.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• Travel assignment details include 13 weeks and 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians and OR staff during procedures.
• Provide pre- and post-surgery care and education.
• Manage instruments, equipment and sterile technique.
• Communicate with families and OR team during care.
