Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Huntington, West Virginia. The assignment spans 13 weeks with 36 hours per week and 12-hour day shifts. Immediate openings for experienced OR RNs willing to travel.

Ideal candidates have 1-2 years of acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, and possibly RN first assistant. You will support physicians, manage pre-/post-op care, and educate patients and families about medications and care after

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience as circulating nurse and/or scrub nurse
• BLS certification required
• RN license in good standing across applicable state(s)

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and administer prescribed medications
• Serve as a liaison between patients' families and operating room team
• Ensure correct procedure is performed on the correct patient
• Explain post-operative care and home medication management to patient and family
• Assist physicians and staff in planning and executing surgical procedures
• Monitor patient during surgery and respond to complications as needed
