Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN OR - Operating Room for a travel nursing job in Springfield, Illinois. The position is a 26-week assignment with 40 hours per week and a 10-hour rotating shift, requiring 1–2 years of acute care experience as a circulating or scrub nurse, and potentially RN first assistant.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of acute care experience as circulating or scrub RN.
• Experience as RN first assistant may be required.
• BLS and additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications.
• Serve as liaison between patients, families and operating team.
• Ensure correct procedures are performed on the patient.
• Initiate education for home care and medications.
• Support Circulating OR duties: comfort/safety and specimen handling.
• Support Scrub OR duties: instrument handling and inventory.
• Support RN First Assistant duties: assist with surgical care and bleeding control.
