Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a CNC Lathe Machinist for a contract position based out of Wichita, KS. The role involves setting up and operating CNC lathes and other machining centers to produce precision components.

You will work 50–60 hours weekly across 2nd and 3rd shifts with a $38/hour pay rate plus a $160 per diem and potential double time on the 7th day. Duration is 6 months to 1 year; onsite work with comprehensive benefits and standard Aerotek pay practices.

Qualifications

• Experience with setting up and operating CNC lathes/mills to exact tolerances.
• Ability to read blueprints and CAD/CAM instructions.
• Proficiency with G&M code editing at machine
• Competence using inspection tools to verify part accuracy with nicked tolerances.

Job description

CNC Lathe Machinist | $38.00/Hour + $160 Daily Per Diem| Lewisburg, Ohio

$38.00/Hour + $160 Daily Per Diem ($1,162 Weekly)

50-60 Hours Per Week Available

2nd & 3rd Shift Openings

Duration: 6 Months-1 Year

Compensation & Schedule

• Pay Rate: $38.00 per hour

• Per Diem: $160 per day ($1,162 weekly)

• Hours: 50-60 hours per week

• *With double time on the 7th day of work

• Location: LEWISBURG, OHIO

• Shifts Available:

• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM - 10:30 PM

• 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM - 6:30 AM

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and optimize CNC lathes, CNC mills, and machining centers to manufacture precision components according to established production requirements.

• Operate and maintain CNC machines to produce parts in accordance with print specifications and customer requirements.

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, schematics, CAD/CAM programs, work instructions, and technical documentation.

• Perform complete machine setups from start to finish utilizing blueprints and/or CAM programs.

• Select, install, and adjust tooling, machine offsets, speeds, feeds, and machining parameters.

• Perform tooling changes, offset adjustments, and equipment calibrations as required.

• Edit and modify machine programs at the machine utilizing G&M codes.

• Utilize precision measurement tools including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy and part conformity.

• Conduct first-article, first-piece, in-process, and final inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and engineering specifications.

• Monitor machine run conditions and performance throughout production runs and make adjustments as needed to maintain production efficiency and product quality.

• Troubleshoot machining processes, tooling concerns, equipment malfunctions, and production issues to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance to ensure machinery remains in proper working condition.

• Accurately maintain production records, inspection reports, quality documentation, and manufacturing data.

• Follow all company safety policies, quality standards, operational procedures, and 5S manufacturing practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $38.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
