Responsibilities

• Perform clinical assessments; identify patient needs and appropriateness for therapy
• Develop, implement, and revise a Plan of Care (POC); complete progress notes and related clinical documentation
• Assess and facilitate range of motion, strength, coordination; determine need for adaptive equipment and environmental modifications; fabricate and maintain adaptive equipment and hand splints
• Evaluate patient occupational performance across self-care, work, leisure and rest; assess sensory-motor, psycho-social, and cognitive-perceptual components; consider environmental and cultural factors
• Apply infection control and universal precautions; maintain accurate records; communicate care information to physicians and caregivers while protecting confidentiality
• Accept clinical assignments within scope of education and competence; collaborate with the interdisciplinary team
• Provide education to patients and families; support safety and function in daily activities; coordinate with physicians and other health professionals
• Perform equipment troubleshooting and basic maintenance; support procurement and setup of occupational therapy tools as needed
• Perform other related duties as assigned
