Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an experienced Labor and Delivery nursing professional for a travel-based role across assigned zones, including Fair Oaks and surrounding centers. The position requires 100% travel and delivery of comprehensive OB care within Kaiser standards.

The role emphasizes medication administration, IV therapy initiation, patient teaching, and multi-team coordination. Licensure in required states, BLS, and ongoing clinical competency are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience in the last 3 years or current OB-GYN Kaiser Permanente employment or completion of KPMAS fellowship.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and monitor care for labor and delivery patients.
• Administer oral and injectable medications; secure narcotics per standards.
• Initiate and monitor IV therapy for procedures.
• Provide ongoing patient teaching on surgery, wound care, diabetes, hypertension, diet, and anticoagulants.
• Prepare and assist with procedures; provide wound care as ordered.
• Coordinate recovery care post-sedation and ensure patient safety.
• Triage walk-in patients and manage workflow for care delivery.
• Act as a resource for LPNs and Clinic Assistants; advocate for patients.
• Escalate unresolved issues to Clinical Coordinator; document incidents.
• Perform fetal monitoring and coordinate care with physicians.
