Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for Med/Surg Telemetry in Concord, North Carolina. The assignment runs 13 weeks starting 01/19/2026, with 48 hours per week and 12-hour night shifts. You must have an NC or compact license and at least 18 months of Med/Surg Telemetry experience.

Successful candidates will work in a 28-bed unit, rotate weekends, and may float regionally. BLS, ACLS, NIHSS may be required for certain roles; Epic EMR is used for documentation.

Qualifications

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand.
• Minimum 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification required for Resource Team roles.
• General post-surgical skills including incision care, wound vacs, trach care, NG tube insertion, and mobility support.

• Patient ratios typically 1:4-6, may increase to 1:7-8 during surge periods.

• Every other weekend rotation required.
• Float to facilities within Region 1 as needed, including Cabarrus, University City, Stanly, Lake Norman, and Central Division.
• No on-call requirements.
• Uses Epic EMR, BD Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips/Massimo monitors.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Med/Surg Tele RN with at least 18 months of recent specialty experience and a current NC or compact license for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 28-bed Med/Surg Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patient population includes orthopedic, spine, trauma, vascular surgery, and medical overflow patients
• Patient ratios typically 1:4-6, may increase to 1:7-8 during surge periods

• Travelers required to work 75% of holidays during assignment
• Up to 6 days of time off may be approved, not including holidays; missed contracted hours must be added to end of contract
• Scrub color is navy
• Free parking available in designated areas
• Unit culture is described as positive and supportive
• First-time travelers will be considered but are not preferred

Requirements

• Active NC or compact RN license in hand
• Minimum 18 months recent Med/Surg Telemetry RN experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required for Resource Team roles
• General post-surgical skills including incision care, wound vacs, trach care, NG tube insertion, and mobility support
• Epic EMR experience preferred
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the home unit
