Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position in Washington, DC, requiring a DC RN license, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and intermediate electronic fetal monitoring certification.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a hospital-based Labor and Delivery unit
• Primary patient population includes women from 17 weeks gestation, laboring, with scheduled procedures such as C-sections and external cephalic versions
• Unit activities include admissions, discharges, transfers, pre-op, triage, and deliveries (both vaginal and C-section)
• Common equipment includes fetal monitors and Fetalink documentation
• Uses Cerner EMR and Fetalink for documentation; experience with Cerner is required
• Schedule consists of four 12-hour night shifts per week, totaling 48 hours
• Candidates must reside at least 25 miles from the facility
• Responsible for delivering care to laboring patients, managing scheduled obstetric procedures, and responding to obstetric emergencies
• May be assigned pre-op and triage duties in addition to labor and delivery responsibilities
• Documentation is performed using Cerner and Fetalink systems
• Candidate must provide references from at least one recent supervisor and one other manager or supervisor from the past twelve months
• Scrub requirements are not specified
• COVID and flu vaccination may be required according to facility policy

Requirements

• Minimum of two years recent L&D experience in a US hospital
