Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN in Marshfield, Wisconsin for an Intermediate Care unit. The role requires 12-hour night shifts, cardiology focus, and potential float to other units depending on staffing.

Nurses must have telemetry/IMC/step-down experience and be comfortable titrating multiple IV drips. The assignment runs 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, and includes travel compensation with weekly pay and comprehensive benefits.

Job Details

• Work 12-hour shifts with varied start times: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM, or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Every other weekend required (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday)
• Every other holiday required
• No self-scheduling; block scheduling accommodated when possible but not guaranteed
• 28-bed Intermediate Care unit with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:4-5 on day/PM shifts and 1:5-7 on night shifts
• Up to 75% cardiac patient population including pre/post caths, pre-CABG, chest pain, NSTEMIs, and procedural cardiac cases
• General patient population includes CHF, COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, dialysis, altered mental status, nephrology, hematology, wounds, and overflow strokes
• Required to titrate drips including insulin, heparin, nitroglycerin, diltiazem, and Lasix
• Work with continuous CPAP & BiPAP, high flow oxygen, Vapotherm, nebulizers, and chest PT equipment (no vents)
• Tele techs provide 24/7 remote monitoring; nurses also have access to on-unit monitors to verify rhythm capture
• Charge nurse carries a reduced patient assignment and serves as a resource for staff
• Nurse aides available with ratios of 1:9 on day/PM and 1:14 on nights
• May be required to float to Med/Surg floors or other units based on staffing needs, including 1:1 patient observer assignments
• Staff may be low-census canceled or reallocated as scheduling is managed in 4-hour blocks
• Charting system: Cerner
• Any color scrubs required; must be clean and professional
• Orientation consists of one 12-hour day off-unit and one 12-hour shift on-unit
• Minimum 1 year of Telemetry, IMC, or Step-down RN experience required
• Must have majority of cardiac experience given the heavy cardiac focus of the unit
• Drip experience required
• Previous travel experience preferred
• Required certifications: BLS (AHA), NIHSS

Facility

This acute care facility is a Level 2 Trauma Center offering a comprehensive range of medical services across multiple specialties. The Intermediate Care unit is a 28-bed department with a strong focus on cardiac care, supporting patients through complex cardiac procedures and a wide variety of general medical conditions. The facility utilizes Cerner as its charting system and is supported by dedicated telemetry technicians, respiratory therapy staff, and nursing aides to ensure high-quality patient care around the clock.
