Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with 3-5+ years of experience, proficient in general nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging. Eligible candidates must hold ARRT (NM) or NMTCB certification and a license where required.

The role includes floating between NM and PET departments, performing multiple daily studies, working 7:00 AM–3:30 PM on five 8-hour shifts, with on-call duties and occasional holidays.

Qualifications

• ARRT NM or NMTCB certification is required.
• License required if applicable.
• Minimum of 3-5+ years of experience in nuclear medicine.
• Must be proficient in general nuclear medicine and PET procedures.

Responsibilities

• Nuclear Medicine department performing both general nuclear medicine and PET/CT imaging.
• Floats between NM and PET departments for direct and indirect patient care, including patient reminder calls.
• Volume of 10+ nuclear medicine studies and 12-14 PET/CT studies per day.
• Top procedures include whole body bone scans, lung scans, gastric emptying studies, renal scans, HIDA scans, thyroid uptake/scan and whole body scans, DaTscan brain scans, lymphoscintigraphy, parathyroid scans, FDG PET, and specialty PET.
• Uses GE and Siemens equipment.
• 5x8 hour AM shifts, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.
• On-call required, including one weekday (4:30 PM-10 PM) and one weekend per month (Saturday/Sunday 7 AM-10 PM).
• Likely one holiday call shift during the contract.
• Call-back cases are typically limited to HIDA, GI bleed, brain death, and lung studies.
• Grey scrubs required as part of dress code.
• Candidates must live outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered.
• Former Emory employees must be separated from the health system for at least 1 year, or 18 months if returning to the same facility.
