American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Peoria, Illinois. The Neuro Med-Surg Acute unit cares for stroke, spine, brain tumor, and related cases with telemetry support and EPIC charting.

The role requires IL licensure, BLS and NIHSS, 1+ year neuro RN experience, and travel nursing background. 12-hour night shifts and 36 hours per week offer a robust schedule with rotation across weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Active IL RN license required at time of consideration.
• Current BLS (AHA) and NIHSS certifications required; copies of active certs must be provided.
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with prior travel nursing and dedicated neuro unit experience.
• No first-time travelers will be considered.

Responsibilities

• Care for neuro Med-Surg patients in a 54-bed unit within an acute care setting.
• Titrate drips including heparin gtts based on PTT.
• Chart with EPIC; EPIC experience preferred.
• Night shifts 19:00–07:00 with weekend/holiday rotation.
• Float in rotation with other units as needed.
• Maintain patient safety and accurate neuro assessments.
