Job summary

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment with 2 years of recent MRI experience and ARRT MR certification. The role supports adult acute care, ICU, and outpatient settings with a day shift of 2x12 hours and no on-call or weekends.

Requirements include ARRT MR, ARRT R, and BLS; license (where applicable) and a compact or multi-state license are required at submission. Proficiency in MRI sequences and contrast administration is expected.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of MRI experience required; 2 years in-specialty preferred with no gaps >90 days in past year.
• Current ARRT MR, ARRT R, and BLS certification required.
• License required if applicable and possession of Kansas/Missouri or compact license at time of consideration.
• Epic EMR experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate MRI imaging in adult acute care, ICU and outpatient settings.
• Work day shift: 2x12-hour shifts; no on-call or weekend requirements.
• Perform brain, spine, abdomen, pelvis, chest, and extremity MRIs; conduct CINE, diffusion, and perfusion studies.

Job description

American Traveler is hiring an MRI Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment requiring 2 years of recent MRI experience and ARRT MR certification.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of MRI experience required, though 2 years of recent in-specialty experience is preferred with no employment gaps greater than 90 days in the past year
• Current ARRT MR, ARRT R, and BLS certification required
• License required if applicable
• Both Kansas and Missouri licenses or a compact license must be in hand at time of consideration due to floating requirements
• Epic EMR experience required
• Skilled in abdominal, pelvic, head, neck, chest, spine, and musculoskeletal MRI imaging
• Experience with MRA, MRV, MRCP, CINE, diffusion, and perfusion studies
• Proficient in contrast media preparation and administration, radiation safety, and starting peripheral IVs
• Experience with isolation precautions and PPE

Responsibilities

• MRI department within an adult acute care, ICU, and outpatient setting
• Day shift schedule, 2x12-hour shifts
• No on-call requirements
• No weekend requirements
• Regular floating may be required between departments, units, and facilities as needed
• Uses GE and Philips MRI equipment
• Perform MRI imaging across a wide range of anatomical regions including brain, spine, abdomen, pelvis, chest, and extremities
• Conduct specialized imaging procedures such as CINE, diffusion, and perfusion studies
• Administer contrast media and maintain radiation safety protocols
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Local candidates within 75 miles of the facility are not accepted
• Maximum RTO of 7 days, all requests must be finalized at time of submission with no additional requests post-offer
• Returning staff must have a 3-month break in service after 18 months of employment; permanent BJC/Saint Lukes employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
• Pre-start compliance includes non-billable EMR modules, with additional modules completed during orientation
• Infusion pump and glucometer training must be completed prior to start date
• No travel partners accepted
