Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an MRI Technologist for a 13-week day shift assignment in York, Maine. This role requires ARRT registration or MRI licensing and a minimum of two years MRI experience.

You will perform MRI procedures, screen patients, follow ACR safety protocols, and operate Epic EMR. The schedule includes three day shifts per week (Sun, Wed, Sat) with potential cross-training to CT/X-ray. A driver’s license and two professional references are required.

Qualifications

• ARRT registration or other qualified MRI licensing required.
• BLS certification within 4 months of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience required.
• Driver's License required for consideration.
• 2 professional references required.
• Working knowledge of medical imaging exams and electronic medical records.
• Ability to work with limited supervision and multitask effectively.
• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, pushing, pulling, reaching, and lifting required.
• Exposure to radiation in the work environment.

Responsibilities

• Imaging department performing MRI procedures.
• 3 day shifts per week - Sunday, Wednesday, and Saturday, 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM.
• Variable shifts may be required based on census.
• May be required to perform duties in other departments such as CT and X-ray as needed.
• Epic EMR used.
• 25-mile float policy between facilities as needed.
• Perform MRI procedures including building and using protocols.
• Screen patients for contraindications and follow ACR and facility safety protocols.
• Interview and educate patients on MRI procedures, addressing concerns with professionalism and tact.
• Ensure patient and staff safety including hazardous metal object removal and magnet safety protocols.
• Monitor patients visually and verbally throughout procedures.
• Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe environment for patients and coworkers.
• Monitor and report on equipment status and assist with inventory tracking.
• Provide care appropriate to patient age and condition, including geriatric, pediatric, and general populations.
• Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
• Local candidates may be considered though not eligible for renewals or extensions.
• Candidates residing within 90 miles of any MaineHealth facility are considered local with adjusted bill rate.
• Returning employees who worked at any MaineHealth facility within the past 12 months must disclose this.
• RTO should be minimal, with 3-4 days considered reasonable for a 13-week contract.
• Air pods, laptops, and cell phone usage prohibited on the unit.
