Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a night shift Med/Surg position in an acute care Level 1 trauma setting requiring a NE or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care Med/Surg unit at a Level 1 trauma hospital
• Typical patient population includes Med/Surg and post-operative recovery patients with occasional oncology overflow
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5
• Float as needed within scope of practice
• 12-hour night shifts
• Epic EMR system is used on the unit
• Responsible for providing care to Med/Surg and post-op recovery patients, with potential oncology overflow
• Required to pass a 90% open-book skills exam during orientation or face contract termination
• First time travelers are welcome
• Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments
• Orientation includes 12 hours and skills testing
• Must be prepared to float as needed within the unit’s scope
• Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
