American Traveler is seeking an experienced Travel RN in Med/Surg for a Fargo, North Dakota assignment on a Level 1 trauma unit. The position requires Epic proficiency and a ND or compact RN license, with 12-hour rotating day/night shifts and a 36-hour work week.

The role includes floating to related Med/Surg units as needed, on a 13-week contract starting 03/02/2026, with a tax-free stipend and travel/licensure reimbursements. Eligible first-time travelers are welcome to apply.

• Current BLS certification required.
• Proficiency with Epic charting system required.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position on a Level 1 trauma unit, requiring Epic proficiency and a ND or compact state RN license.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the acute care setting on the 2W Medical Surgical unit with a Level 1 trauma designation
• General med/surg patient population with a 10-bed department
• Nurse-to-patient ratios are 5:1 for day shift and 6:1 for night shift
• Role requires 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with every other weekend and holiday coverage
• Floating to any med/surg unit on any campus in Fargo may be required
• Utilizes EMR Epic, AccuDose, bladder scanner, Philips monitors, and telemetry equipment
• Provide comprehensive care to med/surg patients in collaboration with inter-professional colleagues
• Demonstrate competency and safe practice in accordance with age and population-specific standards
• Required to badge in and out at the facility
• Navy blue scrubs are required
• Orientation consists of 8 hours
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Requirements

• Active ND or compact state RN license is required
• At least 1 year of recent med/surg nursing experience in a hospital with at least 250 beds and Level 2 or higher trauma center
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association is required
• Proficiency with Epic charting system is required
• Candidates must not reside within 60 miles of the facility; those residing 61-80 miles are eligible at a local rate
• Previous employment at Sanford Health must have ended at least 6 months prior to consideration
