Job summary

Dermatology Partners is seeking a Travel Medical Assistant to support multiple dermatology clinics across the region. You will collect patient history, assist during exams, and document in our EMR while delivering patient education and care.

Responsibilities include assisting with procedures, coordinating follow-ups, processing prior authorizations, and maintaining clear communication with patients and providers.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school or at least 1 year of Clinical Medical Assistant experience.
• Medical Assistant certification is not required.

Responsibilities

• Travel to clinics within the region to cover for call-outs and vacations.
• Proper intake of patient history and chief complaint.
• Documenting during the exam in the EMR system.
• Assist with procedures (suturing, local anesthetic) and allergy testing patching.
• Transcribe reaction strengths and report findings.
• Provide patient education and documentation on disease, treatments, medications, and pathology results.
• Process prior authorizations for medications as prescribed by the provider.
• Schedule follow-up appointments after each exam.
• Respond to patient messages within 24 hours.
• Ensure start-of-day and end-of-day tasks are completed.
