Job summary

Dermatology Partners is seeking a Travel Medical Assistant to cover clinics regionally, assisting physicians during examinations and procedures. You will travel to multiple sites as needed to cover call-outs and vacations, handling patient intake, EMR documentation, and peri-procedural tasks.

The role requires accurate documentation, patient education, and adherence to HIPAA regulations. Travel is required, with duties across several dermatology clinics in the region.

Responsibilities

• Travel to clinics within the region to cover call-outs and vacations.
• Take patient history and chief complaint at intake.
• Document during exams in the EMR system.
• Assist with procedures such as sutures, local anesthesia, allergy testing patches.
• Educate patients and document disease, medications, and pathology reports.

Travel Medical Assistant Job Description

• Traveling to the clinics within the Region to assist in coverage for Call outs and vacations
• Proper intake of the patient (history and chief complaint)
• Documenting during the exam on our EMR system
• Assisting with Medical Procedures such as removing sutures, administering local anesthetic, and applying patches for allergy testing and transcribing reaction strengths
• Deliver patient education and documentation on disease, would care, medications, and pathology Reports and diagnosis.
• Properly conducting Prior authorizations for medications/sending medications to pharmacy as prescribed by Provider
• Schedule follow up appointments at the end of each exam
• Responding timely to messages sent by patients to you or the team (24 hours)
• Ensuring start of day/end of day tasks are completed
• Completing all duties in accordance with HIPAA and other medical regulations
• Other duties as assigned
