Job summary

Dermatology Partners is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers and ensure high-quality patient care within a busy dermatology practice. You will prepare exam rooms, assist with procedures, collect patient histories, and educate patients on treatment plans to promote positive outcomes.

Responsibilities include accurate EMR documentation, adherence to HIPAA, and efficient management of patient flow and communications, ensuring timely care and a great patient experience.

Qualifications

• Supports providers and ensures high-quality patient care.
• Prepares exam rooms and assists with procedures.
• Documents exams accurately in the EMR system.
• Follows HIPAA guidelines and medical regulations faithfully.
• Educates patients on treatment plans and care.

Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate patient intake, including history and chief complaints, with integrity and attention to detail.
• Properly document exams in the EMR system to ensure transparency and accuracy.
• Follow all medical regulations, HIPAA guidelines, and ethical standards in patient care and documentation.
• Assist with medical procedures such as removing sutures, administering local anesthetic, and applying allergy test patches, always prioritizing patient safety and well-being.
• Complete prior authorizations and medication requests efficiently to support timely treatment.
• Schedule follow-up appointments with care and diligence, ensuring patients receive necessary ongoing treatment.
• Respond to patient messages within 24 hours to maintain a high standard of accessibility and responsiveness.
• Approach challenges with a problem-solving mindset, whether troubleshooting EMR issues, assisting with complex procedures, or handling difficult patient interactions.
• Take initiative in completing start-of-day and end-of-day tasks, ensuring a smooth clinical operation.
• Adapt to changing circumstances and responsibilities with resilience and a focus on learning.
• Other duties as assigned – always embracing new challenges with a mindset of growth and service.
