Alliance Services, Inc. is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg / Telemetry for a travel nursing job in Macon, Georgia. The role focuses on Med Surg and Telemetry with EPIC EMR and room-to-room float requirements.

The nurse will work 8-hour nights, 40 hours per week, with a 12-week travel assignment. A $500 contract completion bonus and a gross weekly pay of $2,000 are highlighted in the package.

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg RN experience.
First-time travelers accepted.
6 months of EPIC experience required.
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred and EKG competency exam during onboarding.
Med/Surg certification a plus.

Responsibilities

Float pool capacity; float to all Med/Surg/Tele units and ED as needed.
Provide patient-focused care with RN 1:4-6, LPN 1:4-6, CNA up to 1:14 ratios.
Collaborate with CNA, unit secretary, charge nurse, and care teams.
Coordinate discharge plans and educate patients and families.

Job Details:

Minimum 2 years of Med/Tele RN experience required
First-time travelers accepted
Patient ratios: RN 1:4-6, LPN 1:4-6, CNA up to 1:14
Care for patients with acute or chronic disease, co-morbidities common to med-surg population including diabetes, hypertension, infections, and electrolyte imbalances, cardiac patients (post-cath, CHF, a-fib), and post-surgical patients (general, ortho, trauma)
Required skills include trach care, chest tube management, PIV starts and IV maintenance, glucommander, assessment and time management, care coordination, discharge planning, and patient education
Telemetry skills required: monitoring and interpreting cardiac rhythms, post-cath care, TR bands, and post-cath groin site management (no sheath pulls)
Required drip management: insulin, heparin, Cardizem, amiodarone, milrinone, Digoxin, and nicardipine; may titrate drips for HR but not for BP
6 months of EPIC experience required
EMR: EPIC; IV Pump: Alaris; Med Dispensing: Pyxis; Monitors: Phillips; additional equipment includes VS3 vital sign monitors and Nova Glucose Stat Strips
Float pool capacity required - will float to all Med/Tele units in house as needed, and may also float to ED for holds
Support available includes CNA assistance, unit secretary (7:00 AM - 11:00 PM on unit), charge nurse, PICC team, discharge nurses, resource team, RT 24/7, hospitalist 24/7, intensivist 24/7, and central telemetry monitoring
BLS certification required; ACLS preferred and EKG competency exam required during onboarding; Med/Surg certification a plus
Scrub color: Navy for RN, Ceil Blue for LPN
