American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg RN for night shift in a rural VT setting. Requires 3 years of acute care experience and an active VT or compact RN license. BLS ACLS certifications are required, with flu shot as a must. Pediatric-only experience is not enough.

The role involves a Med/Surg unit serving adults with some pediatric cases, night hours, and every-other-weekend shifts. Meditech EMR experience is preferred in a 25-bed critical access hospital.

Qualifications

• Active VT or compact RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience required
• Flu shot required with no exceptions
• Pediatric-only RN experience is not sufficient for this role

Responsibilities

• General Med/Surg unit caring for medical and surgical patients
• Primarily adult patients with occasional pediatric cases
• Night shift from 7pm to 7am (36 hours/week)
• Every other weekend requirement
• Coordinate comprehensive patient care using the Nursing Process
• Collaborate with Unit Director or Nursing Supervisor during shifts
• Provide holistic care addressing patients' age and psychosocial needs
• Travelers must secure housing; local housing resources available
• First-time travelers may be considered
