Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med Surg travel nurse (RN) for a 13-week assignment in Henderson, NC. The position requires 1–2 years of recent acute care experience, 36 hours per week, and night shifts on 12-hour blocks.

This travel role demands bedside care, medication administration, wound care, catheter and IV management, and active patient education. Responsibilities include pre/post-op care, discharge planning, and collaboration with physicians.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of acute care experience required as a Med Surg RN.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification may be required before starting.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Administer and record prescribed medications; report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Assist physician during examinations and treatments; prep equipment.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education plans.
