Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med Surg travel nurse in Macomb, Illinois. This RN will work 12-hour night shifts, about 36 hours per week, in a fast-paced Med/Surg setting. Start date is 10/05/2026 for a 13-week assignment, with typical travel compensation and tax-free stipends to be determined.

The candidate should have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience and a valid RN license with BLS. Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS required; additional certifications may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Administer and document prescribed medications, report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and care.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education plans.
