Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN for Med Surg in Peoria, Illinois. This travel position requires 1–2 years of acute care experience, BLS, and 12-hour night shifts, with a 13-week assignment and 36 hours per week.

The RN will perform patient assessments, document findings, educate families, and support discharge planning in a fast-paced Med Surg unit. Travel RN duties include bedside care, meds administration, IV starts, and post-op care.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of Med Surg patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and initiate IVs as ordered.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Educate patients and families and participate in discharge planning.
