Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Danville, Illinois with a 13-week assignment. The role requires 1–2 years of acute care experience and a 12-hour night shift schedule delivering patient care in Medical-Surgical units.

Compensation includes a pay package based on 12-hour shifts with a tax-free stipend to be determined. Weekly pay and guaranteed hours are part of the benefits, along with ongoing education and comprehensive medical benefits.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications required; additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physician during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post-discharge care.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education as prescribed by physician.
