Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a Travel Med Surg RN for a 13-week assignment in Dothan, AL. The role offers 36 hours per week, night shifts, and a supportive clinical team to deliver high-quality patient care in a Med Surg setting.

Ideal candidates have 1 year of Med Surg RN experience, an active RN license, and current BLS. NIHSS and ACLS certifications are preferred. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits accompany this travel opportunity.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in adherence to nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, assist physicians during treatments, and monitor responses.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or procedures.
• Document patient information, including vital signs, medications, in the medical record.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement care plans.
• Manage multiple patients, prioritizing based on acuity and needs.
• Ensure infection control practices and PPE use.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and preferences in the plan.
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with resources for home transition.
