Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13‑week travel assignment in Hickory, NC. You will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care in medical‑surgical and telemetry units, assess conditions, monitor telemetry, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license per state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families; ensure understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions and document changes.
• Prepare patients for diagnostics, assist physicians, monitor responses.
• Maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients post‑procedure.
• Document vital signs, medications, treatments, and outcomes in the medical record.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers to plan care.
• Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Ensure infection control and PPE use; follow safety protocols.
• Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with families and resources.
