Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Bryson City, North Carolina. The role involves assessing patient health, monitoring telemetry, and collaborating with the care team to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in a med-surg/telemetry setting.

The ideal candidate has 1 year of Med Surg RN experience, a valid RN license, and current BLS certification. NIHSS/ACLS certifications are preferred, and travel benefits accompany this assignment.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document changes.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist during treatments.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients.
• Document patient information in the medical record.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop care plans.
• Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Ensure infection control practices are followed (hand hygiene, PPE).
• Advocate for patient needs and preferences in the care plan.
• Coordinate discharge planning for smooth transition home.
