Skillforce is seeking a Mechanical Pipe Foreman to lead field operations across DC/MD/VA. You will supervise a crew of 3–8, coordinate manpower and materials, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on mechanical piping projects.

Responsibilities include reviewing drawings, selecting materials, overseeing fabrication and installation, and coordinating with project managers and site personnel to maintain workflow. Travel is required across the DC area.

Qualifications

• Leads mechanical, piping, or pipefitting crews.
• Supervises 3–8 employees on site.
• Interprets P&IDs, drawings, and specs.
• Interacts with project managers and other trades.
• Familiar with Victaulic systems and pipe fabrication tools.
• Ensures safety and OSHA compliance.

Responsabilités

• Supervise and coordinate mechanical craft personnel throughout daily construction activities.
• Assign tasks and set priorities to keep crews productive and on schedule.
• Review drawings, P&IDs, specs, and installation details before work begins.
• Select piping materials, fittings, valves, supports, and installation methods.
• Oversee pipe fabrication and installation including measuring, cutting, threading, grooving, fitting, and assembly.
• Operate pipe cutters, threading machines, band saws, and grooving equipment.
• Install piping systems using threaded, grooved, welded, brazed, soldered, fused, or cemented connections.
• Lay out piping systems and determine offsets, angles, and fittings.
• Perform pressure testing and leak checks on completed piping systems.
• Coordinate lifting and material-handling activities with cranes and heavy equipment.
• Rig and signal suspended loads following safe lifting practices.
• Monitor safety procedures and conduct daily crew safety meetings.
• Coordinate with project managers and site personnel to prevent conflicts.
• Maintain records of hours, production, and progress.
• Train less-experienced employees on installation techniques and safety.
• Inspect workmanship and adherence to project requirements.
• Identify field issues and develop practical solutions.
