Focus Staff is seeking a travel Mammography Technologist for a 13‑week assignment in Shelton, Connecticut. The role requires ARRT certification and Mammography certification (ARRT-M), with 40 hours per week, day shifts, and travel status. Start date is 11/30/2026.

As a Travel Mammography Tech, you will deliver high-quality imaging, patient-centered care, and adhere to radiation safety protocols while supporting breast health services on assignment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification.
• Current Mammography certification (ARRT-M).
• Current state licensure if required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
• Experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to identify service requirements and establish rapport.
• Instructs patients and families about tests and assesses tolerance.
• Prepares patient/area for mammography by positioning and adjusting equipment.
• Follows safety, infection-control, and radiation protocols; maintains sterile technique.
• Collaborates with engineers/physicists to ensure optimal equipment operation and reports issues.
• Obtains and maintains all relevant documentation (requisition, patient history, shielding, consent forms).

Mammo Tech Requirements:

Mammo Tech Responsibilities:

• Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others.
• Instructs/communicates with patient and/or patient`s family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient`s ability to tolerate exam.
• Prepares patient or area for mammography procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection‑control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive mammography procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
• Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department.
• Obtains, verifies and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken, consent forms, etc
