Job summary

Focus Staff is seeking a travel Mammography Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Craig, Colorado. You will perform screening and diagnostic mammography, position patients, and ensure safety and compliance while delivering compassionate care.

The role requires ARRT and Mammography (ARRT-M) certifications, BLS, and a radiologic technology degree. Travel assignments include housing stipends and a comprehensive benefits package. Relay your expertise in a patient-centered imaging environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification required.
• Current Mammography certification (ARRT-M) required.
• Current state licensure if required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 1–2 years of recent Mammography Technologist experience preferred.
• Experience performing screening and diagnostic mammography procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Uses AIDET to identify patient needs, ensure correct exam, and build rapport.
• Instructs patients and families about the test and assesses comfort.
• Positions patient and equipment to prepare for mammography and set exposure factors.
• Adheres to safety, infection-control, and radiation policies; maintains hand hygiene.
• Works with engineers/physicists to ensure equipment operates optimally.
• Maintains requisitions, patient history, pregnancy status, and shielding records.

Mammo Tech Requirements

Mammo Tech Responsibilities

• Utilizes AIDET when communicating with patients to: identify patient service requirements, ensure correct exam is performed on the correct patient, and establish rapport with patients and others.
• Instructs/communicates with patient and/or patient`s family regarding the test to be performed and assesses patient`s ability to tolerate exam.
• Prepares patient or area for mammography procedure by positioning patient, adjusting immobilization devices, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
• Protects patients and employees by adhering to safety requirements, infection-control, drug and radiation policies, protocols and techniques. Uses proper sterile techniques when setting up and performing invasive mammography procedures and maintains hand hygiene requirements.
• Works with engineers and physicists to ensure optimal operational capabilities of equipment. Reports issues to management or appropriate department.
• Obtains, verifies and maintains all relevant documentation such as requisition/chart, patient history, pregnancy status and shielding precautions taken, consent forms, etc
