Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 12-week travel assignment in Lewiston, ME. Start ASAP for 36 hours weekly with 12-hour night shifts. Travel position with comprehensive benefits and a supportive clinical team.

The role requires 1 year of L&D RN experience, active RN license, and current BLS; NRP is required. Preferred certifications include AWHONN Fetal Monitoring, STABLE/ACLS. Must meet regulatory standards and provide quality patient care.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with all regulatory standards for obstetric nursing care.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
