Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift assignment in Washington State. Requires 2 years of L&D experience and Epic EMR proficiency. Licensed RNs with WA or compact license and strong certifications will thrive in this teaching hospital setting.

The role includes 3x12-hour nights, 1:1 to 1:3 staffing, and potential float to sister facilities. Travel, housing allowances, and bonuses are offered to qualified applicants.

Qualifications

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Required certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP, AWHONN Intermediate
• ACLS certification preferred
• Experience with blood and blood product administration
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC)
• Experience with medication administration including anticoagulation therapy, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and Magnesium Sulfate therapy
• Experience assisting with high-risk deliveries, circulating and recovering C-sections
• Experience with sterile vaginal exams and epidural anesthesia/pain management
• Experience with fetal monitoring and IUPC placement/calibration
• Experience with postpartum and antepartum care and procedures
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit with 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
• Facility averages 200-300 births per month
• Patient population includes labor, preterm labor, and high-risk antepartum cases
• Staffing ratio of 1:1 to 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
• Duties include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk L&D care
• Attends all deliveries including high-risk deliveries and GYN surgeries
• Provides couplet care and transition nursery support
• Float required to Post-Partum and possibly L&D at a sister facility
• Teaching hospital setting
• Strong staff camaraderie with book clubs and group dinners
• May request up to 2 of 3 major holidays off (Thanksgiving, Christmas/Eve, New Year’s/Eve), with 1 required to be worked
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same bill rate
• Radius rule of 50 miles applies for local candidate consideration
• Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
• Candidates must disclose any prior work history at a Providence facility, including permanent, travel, or registry/per-diem roles
• Contracts available in 13 or 26-week lengths
• Travelers may be required to float between sister facilities in the surrounding area
