Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a high risk, high volume unit in Seattle, WA. Requires 1 year of high-acuity L&D experience and a WA or compact RN license. Strong candidates have BLS/NRP and are eligible for Epic EMR work.

The role includes night shifts, 4x12 hours, with a 31-bed unit, ~15 patients daily and 500-600 deliveries per month. Travel assignments include eligibility for housing, stipends, and benefits.

Qualifications

• 1 year of high-acuity L&D experience required
• Active WA or compact RN license required at submission
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Experience with Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, insulin drips, and anticoagulation therapy
• Experience functioning as Baby Nurse during delivery and providing newborn care including eye care and Vitamin K injections
• Experience with postpartum care including couplet care, fundus/lochia/perineum care, and hemorrhage management
• Full SSN and DOB required for consideration

Responsibilities

• Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
• High risk, high volume Labor & Delivery unit with 31 rooms/beds
• Average daily census of 15 patients with 500-600 deliveries per month
• 4 operating rooms on the unit
• Uses Epic EMR and electronic fetal monitoring
• Float to Post Partum/Antepartum units and sister facilities
• Work every other weekend and holidays as needed
• Schedule posted every 6 weeks based on unit needs
• Circulates for C-sections and provides newborn care
• Provides high risk antepartum and postpartum care in a fast-paced environment
• First-time travelers are accepted
• Travelers may float to sister facilities within the health system
