Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a Labor and Delivery travel assignment in West Union, Iowa. The L&D RN will support laboring patients, newborn care, and assist with deliveries for a 13‑week assignment with 36 hours per week on 12‑hour day shifts.

Required are BLS, ACLS, NRP and 3 years of acute care experience. The package includes travel benefits with a tax‑free stipend details to be confirmed by TotalMed RN.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure and ability to practice in Iowa.
• Minimum 3 years of acute care experience.
• L&D experience preferred or required.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP as listed in requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for laboring patients and newborns in L&D.
• Assist physicians during epidurals, cesareans, and delivery.
• Monitor mother and fetal status; support breathing techniques.
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with delivery instruments.
• Ensure patient comfort and educate family as needed.
