Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Des Moines, Iowa. The right RN should have 3 years' recent acute care experience and ACLS, BLS, AWHONN, and NRP are required or preferred.

L&D Travel Nurses provide care for women before, during and after delivery; responsibilities include assisting physicians during epidurals, cesarean preparations, and newborn care in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• AWHONN and NRP certifications preferred.
• 3 years of recent acute care experience in a packed labor and delivery setting.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and assist with breathing techniques.
• Assess cervix progression and dilation.
• Maintain clean, dry beds and handling of bodily fluids.
• Assist physicians with delivery supplies and instruments.
• Provide immediate care to the newborn.
