• Circulating for C-sections and triage responsibilities.
• Follow Baby Friendly hospital practices; 1:1 or 1:2 nurse-patient ratio.
• Night shift coverage and potential float to related units.
• Utilize Cerner charting system for documentation.

Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN with at least 2-3 years of L&D experience, active MD or compact RN license, and strong charge and preceptor skills.

Responsibilities

• Position is in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Night shift (4x12 hours), 19:00 to 07:00
• Nurse-to-patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 1:2
• Every other weekend coverage required
• May be floated to Postpartum/Couplet care and 'feeder/grower' assignments in a Level II NICU
• LDRP, Antepartum, Intrapartum, and Postpartum/Couplet Care experience required
• Circulating for C-sections required
• Experience with Cerner charting system required
• Responsibilities include care for laboring, antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients, including circulating for C-sections
• Proficiency with triage, sterile vaginal exams, and Baby Friendly hospital practices highly preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment
• Facility is Magnet certified
• Scrubs are provided by the facility
• Must be willing to float based on unit needs
• Candidates must not have been employed by the facility in the last year to qualify for traveler status
• Local candidates within 60 miles are accepted
• Holiday coverage may be required according to hospital policy

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of recent Labor & Delivery experience required; may consider candidates with 2 years
• Charge and preceptor experience required
• Certifications required: BLS, NRP, Intermediate AWHONN
• Must hold or register for C-EFM through NCC during compliance or within first two weeks
• ACLS, STABLE, and C-EFM through NCC preferred
• Flu vaccine required for all staff
