Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a travel nursing job in Eagle Pass, Texas. This position is a 13-week travel assignment in Eagle Pass, TX, offering 36 hours per week on a 12-hour day shift with ongoing support from a dedicated clinical team.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of Labor and Delivery RN experience, an active RN license, BLS, and NRP certification. Preferred certifications include AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE and ACLS.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
