Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Abington, PA. Start date 10/12/2026; 36 hours per week, 12-hour day shifts.

You will assess maternal and fetal health, administer treatments, and collaborate with the care team to ensure high-quality obstetric care during labor, delivery, and the postpartum period. The role requires L&D nursing experience, valid RN license, BLS and NRP certifications; preferred certifications include AWHONN fetal

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP Certification
• AWHONN fetal monitoring certification (preferred)
• STABLE and ACLS certifications (AHA/ARC) (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Explain labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing
