Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery (L&D) Registered Nurse (RN) position in a magnet-designated facility located in Alaska. This role involves providing obstetric and high-risk antepartum patient care within a high volume, high acuity environment. The position requires maintaining clinical excellence and supporting maternal and neonatal health, with competencies in high-risk obstetrical procedures and patient management.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, minimum of 48 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Valid Alaska Registered Nurse license in hand, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and American Womens Hospital Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN) Intermediate and Advanced levels, Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP). One year of experience in labor and delivery, antepartum, or similar OB settings preferred. First-time travelers are accepted.
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate and Advanced, NRP
• Skills: Management of blood and blood products, high-risk obstetric interventions, sterile procedures, newborn assessments, labor support, fetal monitoring, neonatal resuscitation, postpartum care, and high-risk delivery assistance.
• Preferred Qualifications: Charge experience or willingness to train as charge nurse, experience with Epic charting system.
• Additional Information:
  • Must have a valid license in hand for the auto-offer process; pending licenses accepted.
  • Traveler must be willing to work two major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year).
  • No float requirements; unless needed, may float within scope to like units.
  • No remote or telehealth duties.
  • All RTO (Request for Time Off) requests are considered individually upon offer.
  • Orientation includes 35 hours of pre-start training.
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility.
  • References: Two references covering one year within the last three years are required; can include charge RNs or leads.
  • Travel compliance modules are necessary, with an average of 16 hours spent, completed pre-start and annually.
  • Return staff policy applies; travelers can only work a maximum of one calendar year before a six-month break.
