Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position caring for high-risk antepartum patients with float requirements to the Postpartum unit.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit with high-risk antepartum cases
• Patient population includes high-risk antepartum (6 to 41 weeks), PTL, previa, preeclampsia, diabetes, hypertension, PROM, twins, and substance use disorder in pregnancy
• Care responsibilities include management of fetal demise, antepartum and postpartum loss, and postpartum mothers with babies in NICU
• Assist with sterile speculum exams, maintain central lines, and administer Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
• Operate PCA pumps, PICC/central lines, and syringe pumps
• Required to circulate for C-section procedures
• Uses Epic EMR
• Night shift (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
• Required to float to Postpartum unit
• Responsibilities include antepartum and postpartum care for high-risk and complex cases
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• All travelers must be willing to float between all facilities as required in the state
• Scrubs provided when floating to Labor & Delivery units; any color allowed otherwise
• Minimal or no RTO strongly preferred; all requests for time off must be submitted at the time of application
• Completion of online training modules required pre-start and annually
• Proof of permanent residence, SSN, and DOB required for compliance
• Compliance process must be completed quickly upon offer acceptance

Requirements

• Active WA or Compact RN license in hand
• Minimum of 2 years current L&D nursing experience
• AWHONN Advanced, BLS, and NRP certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Experience assisting with C-sections and high-risk antepartum cases
• Epic charting experience required
• Must provide at least two supervisory references covering one year within the last three years in L&D or comparable setting
• Not eligible if previously employed at this facility within the last 3 months
• Applicants must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
