American Traveler is seeking an experienced Travel RN in Labor and Delivery to support a Kansas City, MO hospital on a 13-week assignment. Requires MO or compact license, LDRP expertise, and 3+ years of recent L&D experience.

The role features 36 hours/week, 12-hour day shifts, and a travel schedule with on-call, weekend rotations, and holiday coverage. On-site in Kansas City, MO with competitive benefits and per diems.

Qualifications

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand prior to consideration.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with at least 1 year in the specialty within the past 12 months and no 90+ day gaps in employment.
• Experience in community hospital settings preferred.
• Certifications: BLS, FHM, NRP; Advanced/Intermediate AWHONN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in an acute care hospital's Labor & Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum unit using the LDRP model.
• Patients include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum mothers, as well as newborns in a Level I Nursery.
• Typical patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:3.
• Responsibilities include vaginal births, c-sections, antenatal testing, and post op GYN care.
• Epic EMR proficiency required.
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts from 6:45 to 19:15.
• Weekend rotation includes 4-6 weekend shifts and 2 Fridays per 6-week schedule.
• Mandatory on-call: 2 shifts per 6-week period.
• Floating within LDRP unit as needed.
• Full couplet care including triage, c-section case management, postpartum support.
• OB triage, labor management, neonatal care in delivery, postpartum education.
• Charge RN assignments and holiday coverage.

• Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility; locals are not accepted
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Requirements

• Active MO or compact RN license in hand prior to consideration
• Minimum 3 years of experience in Labor and Delivery, with at least 1 year in the specialty within the past 12 months and no 90+ day gaps in employment
• Experience in community hospital settings preferred
• Certifications required: BLS, FHM, NRP; Advanced and Intermediate AWHONN preferred
• Proficiency in procedures such as IV therapy, amnioinfusion, circulating for c-sections, and use of infusion equipment
• Epic EMR proficiency required
• Must provide two recent professional references, one from a supervisor
